Condoms

July 20, 2007

Whose responsibility is it to bring condoms?  The girl's.  She's the last line of defense.  It's called ultimate responsibility.  If the guy brings it, it's called chivalry.

Well, at least when we're talking about avoiding pregnancy.  STD's are a different matter.

ultimate responsibility is called pills at over 99% protection.

condoms provide approximately only 42%-50% protection.

trust me. i found out about it too late :P

you must be using second-hand condoms if that’s your hit rate… hahaha

that’s based on scientific data. you might want to check it out. and stock up on pills. for chilvary’s sake.

dunno where you got those values but from what i read it’s almost always around 95% effectiveness..

pills are no protection from STDs and HIV

pills are 95%+ on effectivity against pregnancy, but 0% against STD. condoms approximately 50% for both (the poor statistics, of course, because of mishandling and misuse of the merchandise. like some people i know very well).

anyway, aside from the usual loopholes, the use of other prescription meds that increase fertility should be taken into consideration (again, like some people i know very well).

it is still best to use both pills and condoms simultaneously.

If you’re in a monogamous relationship, then both partners should get tested for STDs and then get on the pill/depo provera/etc. If not, and you want to protect yourself against pregnancy and STDs, then both should be prepared with condoms (although there are plenty of other barrier methods). With *perfect* use, condoms should be 98% effective. So for those who have 50ish% success rates, they haven’t been using it properly :/.

isn’t depo provera illegal because it’s considered abortive?
