I thought the sky was weeping but its tears were blood
The sky is bleeding, we must fear the flood

What has become of us?

December 19, 2006

Have we been so blinded by the bright lights that we could not see where we were walking?

We have now strayed too far from the path.

Now there is no turning back, no making amends, no rebuilding bridges, no reacquainting with old friends.

Whatever we lost is lost.

The moment we wet our feet in these murky waters, we too were lost forever, drowning slowly, unknowingly.

A lucky few will live to escape, to tell the tale of repentance and forgiveness, to pass the gates of redemption.

But only a lucky few.

A privileged few.

The rest, the unfortunate, the others – us – we will remain prisoners, relegated to our sordid fates.

We will die in darkness, blinded by the very bright lights which led us astray.

For those forgiven, theirs will be an eternity of solitude.

Away and apart from these things, because they are the few.

For those forsaken, we may revel in the company of our brethren, because we are the many.
